beeswax Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Had an email from this company wanting us to put a link on our website to their website. I can't see anything wrong with this site myself. Has anybody else had contact from them or found anything untoward?
gwendes Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Only thing that is immediately obvious is all the GoogleAds...
CHR1S Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 My question would be how its funded and at what point will the founder - YourHomework was founded by John Rowlinson, the founder of PtS. John, through PtS, is involved in a number of ventures including software and property companies. A percentage of revenue from these activities goes towards funding YourHomework and a number of similar sites. Our focus is simply on having experts create the highest quality information possible that is widely read. Start pushing software he develops for sale to the users as essential - maybe im just reading into it lol

bossman Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 @beeswax: Only that it has a small box requesting e-mail addresses if you want to receive monthly newsletter. Know only too well what may happen from some of our kids.
webman Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Ask them how much are they willing to pay for advertising space on your site.
Nedders Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Can't see any qualifying criteria from say child protection seeing as they are going to be interacting with the children as well as the google ads point earlier. Just be careful what you 'approve' to promote through your website and investigate what checks they have in place against potential child abuse issues...sorry don't want to appear over the top but you never know!
Brpilot99 Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Its probably to do with search engine optimization. Apart from making the site google friendly... the more relevent incoming links a web site has the better google likes it and your google ranking and position in a google search will go up .... the aim is to be at position number one for a given search term thereby getting more visitors to your site ..... If he can get loads of non reciprical incoming links to his site he'll do very well ....
