rocknrollstar Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Hi, just wondering if anyone has a Sony VPL EX50 projector? Looking to buy one for presentations. With good lumens on LCD for a reasonable price, it looks good. Can't seem to find any reviews for it online though. Sony VPL EX50 LCD projector 2500 ANSI lumens XGA (1024x768) 4:3 - Ebuyer Thanks for your input
cromertech Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 We have a few sony projectors, not of that exact model but it just seems to be an aesthetic update to the ones we have. They are VPL EX3 and EX4's and are pretty reliable. We did have one that broke just out of warranty with a permanent lamp error, but the others have been fine. Hope this helps your decision a little 1
Haptic Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 we have that exact model in stock for £405.00+vat with Free Delivery! Also included is a 5 yr warranty saves a few quid against ebuyer! 1
conedltd Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 (edited) VPL-EX3 - Worst projector we have ever installed! Air filter system does not work, so lamp gets clogged up and fails. We replace teh lamp once a term. When the dust builds up so much in the projector, then the image gets very dim. Sony will charge you for this "repair" even though their support staff admit there is a problem with the unit. My advise is to avoid this model! Edited June 24, 2009 by conedltd
Jamman960 Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 I've just had a 2nd EX4 bulb blow within 1000 hours/1 year on 2 different projectors, the filters have been cleaned a few times so shouldnt be blocked.... thankfully we have a 3 year lamp warrantee with the units. I had requested EX5 projectors for this years installs but thankfully our supplier has talked us into going for Sanyo XW57's with 3 year lamp warrantee's.
