No issues here. Running Sims and Windows 7 *64 beta nicely.

But then again I do IT for a living - that said installing Sims was a walk in the park!

Fair one, don't use NovaT.

Apparently that is not compatible with *64 systems, so not just W7.

Can't see the point of wasting time with Windows 7 and SIMS. I mean Capita won't support it and no professional would install Windows 7 (beta) in a production network. Even after it's release you've still got to wait till Capita supports it.

If you want to do it as far as testing, then I'll be waiting till Capita asks for testers.

The point is to find out what will and will not work - hence "beta testing"...

IIRC, didn't Capita start supporting Vista pretty quickly?

Capita tent to sneaky with features, windows 7 support will be added to something like March, but they won't tell anyone (officially). It won't be official support till Windows 7 is out and they've properly tested it (this includes schools using it on a live system).

The fact everything is beta, features will come and go. The next release it could be broken, then you've just wasted your time testing it. Fine, Windows 7 is BETA, not ALPHA.

At the end of the day you can't go into the source-code and amend it, you can move some dlls etc around, so your just wasting time moaning at Capita about how it doesn't work.

Don't get me wrong, you should be looking at Windows 7, but the Microsoft features, both administration and how this is going to affect the end user, is it good value for money ( unless you fancy waiting for Becta to tell you ;) )

Far as SIMS and Windows 7 is concern, Capita will say it's supported, you'll install it as normal, it'll work. I can't see it being long wait as it's basically the vista kernel with some tweaks.
