Student proof audio system...

Just been asked by Head of 6th form to source an audio setup for their common room.

 

I guess it needs to be tough as old boots and be capable of playing cd's/ mp'3's / line-in / radio blah blah...

 

I guess the two main factors are ROBUST AND LLOOOUUUDDDDDD!

 

Anyone any suggestions...?

Thats not a bad shout that... or perhaps buy a cheap-ish I-Doc and then they bring in their I-pods...?

Cant recommend this particular model but Mackie are generally quick robust. Provide them with a few cables and let them plug it into their mp3 player.

I have a studio style setup at home (I produce dance music in my spare time) and I have a pair of Mackie HR624 monitors (sound quality is incredible). I can boost them quite loud, but if I overstep the mark the speakers LED's will flash red that I'm overdoing it and cut the volume down for me. Big big money though, I wouldn't spend such cash for student use tbh!
