How can I go to London on the cheap?

Automobiles were always a good invention~!

 

National express is good tbh. They have discount prices for kids and always loads of coaches going + always on time. I always use them and have never had any problems.

 

Though I did drive past the greyhound murder scene in Canada. So always sit @ the back so you know whos where.

You can get some pretty decent rail fares - book as far in advance as possible to get the dirt cheap tickets. As others have said also get a family railcard, as these now give you an added discount on ap tickets.

I've been parking there for years, and over 20 times this year, it has somebody patroling every now and then, i've never seen a smashed window other anything of that nature.

I've done this twice now, it's great. Same idea. Travel down in the motor, maybe spend £30 in disel, return, with my foot down, from West Yorkshire, then about a tenner on the tube return and about 3 quid for parking. Because you're at the end of the tube line you've got all zones return, you can do pretty much what you wanti in between.

I would assume that car would be cheaper than four train tickets but I wouldn't know where to park.

 

From the Northwest, would Watford be better? There's two train lines into London (one, I think, is still the Tube, one is now London Overground), and a Google search is bound to turn up somewhere to park.

When the kids were in younger, we used to drive down and stay at the Master Brewer at Hillendon just off the M40. The tube station is just across the road, so the car could be left in the hotel carpark for the duration.

 

There have been major road changes around there now, so it might have changed a bit.

Express Holiday Inn in Walthamstow is fairly similar.
