Smart Notebook files and Microsoft Synctoy

Is anyone having problems syncing Smart Notebook files (both .NOTEBOOK and .XBK) files with Microsoft Synctoy?

 

We have a local user account set up on our staff laptops.

 

If they create a Notebook file at home and then try and sync it when logged on at school, it fails with an ACCESS DENIED error.

 

It doesn't seem to be a Synctoy issue because other files and folders sync perfectly.
