I know that what I am doing is probably not advised but it must be possible!

I have recently moved SIMS about a bit so that it can be accessed on our curriculum network. The curriculum network has (and always has had) a shared drive lettered S: and you and I both know the confusion that would ensue should this be changed.

Anyway, SIMS usually uses S: as its shared drive but I want to use X: Everything works great (except for NOVA which insists on using S: still).

My question is... how does SIMS know where NOVA is meant to be? Or rather... how do I tell SIMS that NOVA is on drive X: ?

this location is usually held in a file called nova.dir that can be found in either C:\program files\sims or C:\program files\sims\sims .net

or where DMcCoy says.

%systemroot%\sims.ini

??? IIRC

Good try... everything else is in there!

NOVA.DIR in the sims folder contains the path

One gold star to that man! :)
