McAfee has detected this on a PC at home and says it might be unwanted... I have googled and can't make mt mind up. Does anyone who understands spyware better than me have an opinion please?

 

A Squared hasn't flagged it...

Its apparently classified as Adware (Adware.Gdown), but may be a false positive. Supposedly it comes from the gteko.com site.

Doesn't look important either way - don't think it is dangerous but I would delete it anyway

 

Do you use Hijack This? I find it very useful and the explanations of each bit are very good

I haven't used Hijackthis. TBH it's gets into territory I don't understand - it's something I have used occasionally for others to look at

I don't think removing it will cause a problem

There are some v good explanations of Hijack This around - I used to use it all the time when there seemed to be a lot of annoying stuff floating about.
