Just rang Maplin in Northampton, they can reserve me one to pick up on my way home from work if I want one.

Nobody is knocking the offer, but it looks pretty pants if I'm honest all things considered!

Sorry, let me rephrase it, - if you have a store near you, they may have some left over, but the website shouldn’t have any.

Hey man, no worries, its the same offer, so its all good - if you need one, get it from what ever channels you want! ;)

To answer my own question, Maplin reports it as being an A65HZ. One review says:

Well had a mess with it before the brother got hold of it. no pics as dead batterys (moral dont buy €1 batteries)

The display is dim and not that great even in the dark.

Resolution is rubbish, brother is going to be unhappy about that. It does look to be below 640x480 as I can easily see the blocks and text looks terribler.

Good things about this LED projector is it runs cold, a hell of a lot quiter and is nice and small. and it does not mess with ir cams. If only it was 800x600 min and 4000 ansi min bright.

My advice would be to avoid this projector unless you can accomadate long throw, need low res and operate in the dark. Probably now really woth the money I suppose.

I placed one in my basket via the maplin website and went as far as being asked for payment details so I would have thought if they didn't have any I wouldn't get that far.

You also advertise it as today only for Edugeek members there is nothing special about the offer when I could get it tomorrow from Maplin for £99 but your offer is "today only"

If it was £50 it would be worth a punt for £99 It'd need to work better than it appears to.

Looks like a decent little piece of kit, but as previous posts say, if it was £50 it would be worth a purchase, just for the fun factor of having one, but £99 is out of the window this time of year.

Its a very interesting concept. There will be more devices like this but much smaller in the new year. But a small portable projector like this could be quite fun, at least if it could project a bigger brighter picture.

Hmm - I've been thinking about getting a projector for home, but I don't think I can afford £99 just at the moment.

Did anyone else read this month's PC Pro yet? There's a bit in there reckoning that the ultra-small projector is going to be the technology to watch out for in the next year:

Personal Projector

These are projectors that are about the size of a mobile phone and cost around £200-£300 at the moment. I'm guessing that price is going to come a fair bit, though. That'd be good - you could carry a projector around with your netbook easily.

would love a projector at home, got one big bare wall it would be perfect on..

Bet you mine's more perfect than yours - my flat's walls slope in at about 40 degrees, making headroom a bit limited but a perfect potential home cinema experience!
