Problem with macromedia Contribute after Macromedia 8 instal

i have it working now, the problem was that i had altered the original msi as it was not creating the printer properly but with this transform and the original msi it all work without any problems.

 

tested it on one machine, just now to try it on a few to see if it was a fluke lol.

We fixed the problem by using an M$ utility called MSIZAP.

Turned out that there were some Contribute temporary install files left in the image we used on our curriculum workstations. MSIZAP of the contribute product code seemed to fix our issues.

I still have a problem with this, i deployed the msi and the mst but when i logged on as a user it would not let me convert to a pdf, but as admin it worked fine, it seems to need some access to add the printer.

Hi, 1st post so pls be kind - I gave our pupils the rights to load/unload drivers in group policy and this stopped the contribute error when starting word. Hope this helps!

have you had any other problems with allowing the kids, and has it solved any other problems.

 

I am just trying to consider what the benefits and problems could be if we did this.
