nawbus Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 I've just bought a new PC and want to partition the 500gb hard drive. However the built in Vista tool will only let me create a new drive of 11gb. With Win XP I would use Partition Magic, but it's not compatible with Vista. What has everyone else used? Ta
RabbieBurns Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 I had no issues using the built in vista partitioner. I repartitioned my 100gb drive to 1x70 and 1x30

Which comes with both gparted and ntfsresize. 1
SYNACK Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 Likewise I have had no issues with the Vista tool. I prefer it to XP as you can resize live partitions right in the drive managment snapin without even a reboot which is really handy.
nawbus Posted December 11, 2008 Author Posted December 11, 2008 Have you tried SystemRescueCD? Which comes with both gparted and ntfsresize. Thanks I'll give that a go. Don't know why the resize tool won't resize more than 11Gb! Thanks for the advice.
