Hi

 

Has anyone had the problem of the Server and Workstation Service stopping unexpectedly?

 

All my 2003 servers on the curriculum network has this problem, but strangely my admin 2003 server doesn’t.

 

I have googled with no success, its frustrating

 

Anyone got any ideas??

Nothing out of the ordinary, I have set the Workstation and Server services to automatically restart if they stop. They start ok for a while. Something springs to mind about the SvcHost.exe having a problem on a few of the workstations, I just put it down to needing re-ghosting.

 

I have done a anti virus scan with Sophos and also with the Live One Care.

 

The only entries out of the ordinary are:

 

Event Type: Error

Event Source: Service Control Manager

Event Category: None

Event ID: 7032

Date: 09/12/2008

Time: 16:36:34

User: N/A

Computer: ALBANYFS01

Description:

The Service Control Manager tried to take a corrective action (Restart the service) after the unexpected termination of the Windows Management Instrumentation service, but this action failed with the following error:

An instance of the service is already running.
