featured_spectre Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 I got this one in the email Rugeley Recycling Est.: 2003 Under New Management Totally Free Service No costs Ever Due to an increased tightening of British law ruling and to ensure compliance with the (WEEE) Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive many companies are now looking to help close the environmental loop by recycling their equipment wherever possible. Safe disposal is even more imperative as some items of IT equipment have toxic components that could harm the atmosphere of disposed of incorrectly. The data protection law now instructs that information on personnel computer hard drives could be confidential and must therefore be destroyed or deleted in a confidential manner. timbo343 Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 I got that rugeley recycling email too, i have contacted them so many times but not got any replies
ANiceEnglishman Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Ummmmm... I thought that under the WEEE regulations either the original producer or the producer of the replacement equipment had to dispose of the old kit (depending on how old it was). All new kit is replacing something else isn't it
