Hightower Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 I have a .co.uk domain that was with 1and1 - now I've started a transfer to my new hosting. 1and1 says the domain has been cancelled and everything is done at their end, but my new hosting still says waiting completion - how long does this take?
contink Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 I have a .co.uk domain that was with 1and1 - now I've started a transfer to my new hosting. 1and1 says the domain has been cancelled and everything is done at their end, but my new hosting still says waiting completion - how long does this take? The word "Cancelled" here is the most worrying part... I'd check that it hasn't been cancelled but instead that the TAG has been updated to the new host. As to timing your best bet is to check the Nominet UK site for their FAQ.
Hightower Posted November 26, 2008 Author Posted November 26, 2008 I think that's just the terminology 1and1 use - because it's been transferred they have cancelled it at their side or something. I followed the right steps etc in transferring it.
powdarrmonkey Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 I used to use 1and1, but it's been a while so this may not be accurate. 'Cancelling' the contract in their terms used to mean they stopped providing services for it and stop charging you. They do the tag seperately. If you tell me the domain name (PM if you like) I'll have a look at it for you, used to work in webhosting.
Hightower Posted November 26, 2008 Author Posted November 26, 2008 I asked for it to be transferred through the proper channels and provided the tag. I'm onto my hosting support now and I think he's looking it up but the domain is steelers-fc.co.uk - feel free to give it a try.
localzuk Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 According to the Whois record, your registrar for your domain is: Fuzioned Limited [Tag = FUZIONED] URL: Untitled Document
CSNM-Carl Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 The domain has been transferred away from 1and1, however it's still pointing to them. You need to change the nameservers on the domain to point your new host, they should provide you with a control panel to do this. Whois Search - Domain name whois
Hightower Posted November 26, 2008 Author Posted November 26, 2008 They said something about changing the DNS but I can't do it yet as there are no options in the control panel - domain name is waiting completion
