Starting XAMP for linux on startup

Hi,

 

I am running the Linux version of xampp which is called lampp and I need it so that it starts when I turn my computer on instead of having to open up a terminal and typing sudo /opt/lampp/start lampp each time. I have an Eee PC and I am running the default Xandros OS in advanced mode.

If you look at the edugeek wiki on the eeepc - there is a bit about inserting a script to mount a network share during startup.

 

It might be a reasonable place to insert your script.

I know in Ubuntu you can go to Sessions and add a new start-up app. For instance I added the command pidgin so my IM starts up automatically.

 

Don't know if it is similar in Xandros - haven't used it much.

Same difference really, sessions is just a GUI to the init.d and rc.d libraries
