Hi,

Just reading some old forums on this software. A question I have in my evaluation if someone might be able to answer.

 

Is it possible to have MRBS manage permanent bookings (for a whole year) in two week blocks(A and B weeks). Easy enough. Some of our terms are 9 weeks, others 10 and 11. We always return on an A week after a break. Some mid term breaks are 2 weeks and others 3.

 

So with MRBS some return dates are shown as B weeks in MRBS. I guess I am after a way to bulk maintain all permanent bookings in MRBS so that the correct week shows on return from a break. Hope that made sense.

I would recommend phpscheduleit over MRBS. I've used both and imho phpscheduleit has a 'bnetter' interface. It can be AD integrated as well.

I have mine running on IIS as well with php and mysql installed and don't have any problems.

Its not a good idea using a windows xp machine you can only have up to 10 connections its one of the limitations of xp.

Thanks Richard, I am not much care about the limitation of the connection but what thing is i cannot install the MRBS to working for me as I am very dummy with PHP & MySql.

I don't know where to place the sample db.

I have mine setup on a Windows XP box with IIS, MYSQL and phpMyAdmin and all works well. We have small enough userbase that I am not too worried about the 10 connection limit. This XP box also host my SysAid helpdesk software, no problems so far! Knock on wood! And yes it was easy to setup and config, still working on getting the email portion to work but once I get that its ready to go.

Hi howartp, thanks for getting back to me. I believe I have followed the instructions to the letter however when I try to log in using http://adress_to_server/mrbs/web/ I get the following:

[h=1]Forbidden[/h]You don't have permission to access /mrbs/web/ on this server.

If you can't even get to the basic page before the login then there is an issue with the website itself, either permissions on the folder or something in your apache setup.

Thanks Achandler, I used webmin and virtualmin to set this up. Please could you let me if this would be a good way to try and configure this? It is useful to have a GUI as I have never worked with code before.
