Hightower Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 Does any use the Sharepoint Services Templates? I'm looking at the helpdesk one and the room booking, but need to install a testing server to see if they are any good (good enough to replace our current system) before I ask the LEA to install them. What are they like? Can anyone give any screen shots? 1
GrumbleDook Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 Remember that not all sharepoint templates work the way you think. Most of the free templates are designed for WSS v3 and not for MOSS 2007, and require additional work to ... well ... work. IIRC this is true of the helpdesk one. Check with your LA whether this template is available ... and remember that not every MOSS 2007 implementation is the same so the template that someone rebuilds for one implementation may still not work on a different one. It would be nice if it always did!
apearce Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 you can view the 40 application templates (known as the Fantastic 40 Templates) for WSS/MOSS at Home - SharePoint Fantastic 40 Site Templates You have to log in to see them working but there is a username and password on the screen for you to do this. WSSDemo is a great site and has links to over 300 external sites that are using sharepoint. 1
