Windows setup error on login

I have a laptop running XP SP2 and everytime the user logs in he gets the error:

 

"Windows XP Setup - Please go to the Control Panel to install and configure system components"

 

Googled and found solutions relating to a rogue Autorun.inf but I can't find any and the trail ran dry.

 

Any ideas?

You could try using the windows system file checker

sfc /scannow

 

Which should replace any nessisary ones from the cd, you may also want to go into the add remove programs bit and add all of the optional windows components. If this fixes it just remove any that you don't need once it is working.

Ah its asking for the XP disk which I dont have to hand. Have to do this later.
