I keep getting thi smessage when trying to access the schools FTP pages for their website.

An FTP authentication failure occurred while trying to retrieve the URL: ftp://www.thirsk-pri.n-yorks.sch.uk/

Squid sent the following FTP command:

PASS

and then received this reply

Login incorrect.

ISA appears to be set up right. Any help would be much appreciated.

Think its the connection from this end. Can access it from other schools on the same ISP. Can ping the proxy that hosts the site also. Have noticed that the server running MS Server 2003 doesn't have any ftp services installed. Not wanting to sound stupid but is this where the problem lies??

Excuse my lack of knowledge but could you please explain more about annonymos logins? I understand what they are but how do I disable/enable them or is it up the provider?

Hi Ben

Dont worry about anoymous logins is way to login in to ftp server with out needing username or password well thats lie as need to eneter anonymous and then as password your email address.

As rule if eneter anonymous as username as long as password as got @ in then it will let you in.

This ftp server are basicly used for file sharing say to share drivers etc most vendors have an anonymous ftp server of some kind...

As for who set this if you host your ftp site yourself on a server that you have access to them you can set it.

As you are trying to upload to your schools website server then wont have anonymous user enabled as a rule unless your are uploading to server that you run yourself.

Also some leas make so can only access ftp servers if that workstation ip has been set to do that dont ask why but they do..

As said if you can access it from other school then sounds like a local issue can you access the ftp server from isa box..
