Sylv3r Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 I recived a flyer through the post from a company called Rowcom - RowCom - Fast Repairs For All Brands Of Laptops & PC?s Has anybody used this company before in the past? We have withdrawn from our LEA hardware contract which will take affect from the 1st April 2008. The prices are not shown on the website, but the details on the flyer are: Option 1 Individual Laptop Cover ex. Parts - £5 per month per laptop Option 2 Individual Laptop Cover inc. Parts - £8 per month per laptop Option 3 Fleet Laptop cover ex. Parts - £220 per month Option 4 Fleet Laptop cover inc. Parts - £380 per month Which other companies do people use for their laptop repairs? Have you considered putting your technicians through the relevant vendors hardware training to allow repairs in house? I'd be interested in your views. Thanks
ThatBoringBloke Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 have you considered extended warranties, and then 'should' you have a non warranty repair that needs carrying out simply paying for it?
Sylv3r Posted October 18, 2008 Author Posted October 18, 2008 Hi Simon The newly purchased laptops will have extended warranties included with them. But for the existing laptops, to be honest the majority are from the LfT scheme and I am debating whether it is going to be cost effective to fix the majority of them.
ThatBoringBloke Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 Well if past experience is anything to go by if you need to replace something like a screen its cost is around £300. So taking things into consideration it may well be worthwhile simply buying a new laptop.
