Except it was the clear disk at the bottom of the spindle pack that was on top the the DV. To be fair, it took me a couple or so tries before I noticed it. I still don't know if it was a wind-up but I suspect not.

Oh, I've had that where they thought the clear disk was an actual cd and they couldn't understand why the machine couldn't write to it... ...and I've also had it where they've put the little label that comes on the top of the first disk of a stack in with the disk as well. Priceless.
