DNS error 4521 & 9999

Hi all, I am receiving error 4521 and 9999 in DNS, the 4521 have been appearing for a while but the 9999 have shown early this morning about every hour any ideas??

A quick search turns up EventID 4521 warning after SP2 upgrade - Server DNS and DNS 4521 and 9999 event Errors. Server 2003 SP2 : Microsoft, Server 2003, Server 2003 SP2, DNS Errors, The DNS server encountered error 9002 attempting to load zone . from Active Directory. The DNS server will attempt to load this zone again on the n (scroll down).

 

I'd advise running DCDiag on the offending machine(s) and see what it turns up.

Ran the DCDIAG /TEST:DNS and it has passed this test.

 

12 months ago our original domain controller went down do we had a backup take over but workstations were still looking for the the old one so when it was back up it was set as a forwarder. Would this cause problems?
