Hey,

i would like to setup a webserver

is installing windows server and the iis

the easiest/best way???

also how do i get my domain connected to my computer if i do use iis?

Given the attitude you have in other forums boasting about your "proxy" circumventing filters and how "we" (collective term for support staff) can't do anything about it there is no way on earth I'm going to help you with something which would require me to give time and effort to your gain.

 

Maybe the support staff are your school should gloat that you can't do anything because they could do this ... a bit like your attitude to proxies.

You clearly don't understand if you are asking how to associate a domain to your IIS webserver.

 

It depends upon whether/which technologies you wish to use, IE. PHP or ASP etc if any.

Okay, you didn't mention that in your original post. (Have a read here for information on how to pose a smart question which aims to get you resolution first time).

 

As I said in my last post, if you want to use dynamic technologies such as PHP or ASP helps you in your decision. Typically, ASP users will use IIS whereas whilst PHP will function OK on IIS, it's more commonly utilised on a linux platform, or a windows platform with Apache.
