Hedghog Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 I have two servers one running as primary and the other as backup their respective operational master roles are primary - RID and PDC and the standby is set as infrastructure operational master role. Now I made a mistake which upset AD but I thought well Ok I have a backup. restored the back having shut the standby server down and restored system state. All checked ok but as soon as I restarted the standby server it all went pear shaped AD was back to where I left it. What have I set wrong. By the way the standby also provides DNS and DHCP for the Domain. Peter
FN-GM Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 what did you do wrong with AD in the first place?
Hedghog Posted September 30, 2008 Author Posted September 30, 2008 deleted an OU in error (the staff OU)
FN-GM Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 What i would do is demote the backup DC to a member server. Then restore the backup on the main DC then promote the backup one to a DC again. 1
