Hi guys

I've been setting the proxy on our network with the local computer policy set to per machine and not per user. Just got a load of new laptops in, gone to set the policy and they don't have one I'm looking for. It was - Local COmputer Policy\Computer Configuration\Adminstrative Temples\Windows Components\internet Explorer.

Anyone got any ideas or alternative ways to set proxy so it doesn't change on an individual basis ?

All help appriciated.

But I used to be able to change it using the policy setting in the attached screen shot. Which has now dissapeared. All I have now in the Windows components are media player and windows update

proxycfg sets proxy settings for applications using WinHTTP but that shouldn't affect Internet Explorer. It's useful when you have apps (other than web browsers) which can connect to the internet but cannot be configured to use a proxy server
