Gibbo Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 Has anyone had any issues with an OKI C5200 (or similar C5xxx) printer where it reports a low toner, but upon replacing it's still reporting the same error? I'd normally just ignore the error but the magenta is coming out all faded.
tomscaper Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 We had something similar and it was a problem with the drum unit of the specific colour, the kids had damaged it somehow. We have the C5700. What does it show when you connect to the printer via its IP.
Gibbo Posted September 19, 2008 Author Posted September 19, 2008 Drum life 89% (which is accurate as it was replaced a few months ago) but toner stuck on 11%. I've even replaced the drum and toner from a broken C5200 but it doesn't register the change.
Gibbo Posted October 6, 2008 Author Posted October 6, 2008 Just an update on this. The printer reported a "call engineer, serious error" so I turned it off and on again and all of a sudden the magenta toner was back to 90% and working perfectly again!

If we change it too early, the printer doesn't seem to realise that new toner has been loaded
