OpenSource Software Disc

Morning,

 

Lately we have had students asking for software in school (mainly Office 2003/07) obviously we cant just go giving out our site licence to the students so we are showing them the free way (open source).

 

Now after thinking about this I thought maybe it would be a good idea to download useful Open Source Software and put it on a disc to give to students.

 

So what I am asking is, what software would you have in mind that you think would be useful to put on this disc.

 

Open Office 3 is already downloading so anything else I would be most grateful.

You could also give them an ubuntu cd, (just saying, you don't need to force it down their throats)

I have burned off that Open Disc and that seems very good, few things on there that are not so good such as the games, but its not to be used in school any way which dont make it a big problem.

 

As for the Portable Apps, i did make this recommendation to begin with, so we will see what comes of that.
