It's about time someone turned it around as it was a huge waste of tax payers money going to all these quangos and so called consultants who on the whole have probably taken two thirds of the allotted money already.

Wonder if this is just the thin end of the wedge? Hope so :) only time will tell, well done that man.

I wonder if edugeek could get a podcast from the man himself on his colleges ICT?

Give that head a metal he must value high quality in house IT services over wasting TAX payers money. I wish all other heads were as cleaver but some can only see pound signs £:) when BSF comes a knocking. All the other heads should follow his example and crush this BSF scheme

Posted via Mobile Devicealso worth pointing out that this is an outstanding school under OFSTED, has a history of independence and the vision for ICT is truly embedded into the school.

There are not enough schools like this but it does set a precedent for certain schools.

I would like to hear from the school too.

It just goes to show that the BSF project is just what it has been designed to be and that is to raise standards in schools deemed not to have an effective IT infrastructure but what seems to be getting up quite a few peoples backs is the fact some very good schools are being made to be a part of something they don't need or want because they already have in place a very good ICT infrastructure.

Why should these schools be forced and i don't use the word loosely because this is what is being done by means of carrot and stick method i.e. you will take the managed services or else you get no money and no new building.

This is tantamount to nothing more than large scale bully boy tactics by the third party contractors who only see this project as a money making scheme.

Yes some schools will benefit only because of their lack of vision and investment in the first place but this would be down to individual schools SLT teams and governors no-one else but it is not them who are going to suffer the TUPE process and it will not be them who could find themselves out of a job.
