ID Card Printers

Were having issues with our current ID card printers and I was wondering what brands/models people currently use to print student & staff ID cards? Needs to have a network port as we don't allow USB printers.

 

We currently use Fargo DTC4500e.

We used Zebra ZC300 ID Card Printer for a brief period and it was great, however since September we switched to an external provider so we no longer print our own. Saves us from the hassle of broken printers.

We have an IDP Smart 31. Had it for about 6 months now and it does the job really well, only had 2 jams and 1 ribbon break in that time, with over 100 prints (manual two sided).

 

Network is an optional extra along with double-sided, so make sure you check that with your supplier before purchasing.

IDP S31 here too, we've got the network and double sided modules. Must have done 3-400 prints by now and still going strong (touch wood). We do all the student and staff IDs in-house and budget to replace the printer every 5 years or so.
