davie887 Posted Tuesday at 07:08 Posted Tuesday at 07:08 Is it possible to have more than one period/day structure? We have an AP that has a different schedule, but this is causing issues with staff timetables as the periods do not line up. Scomis, our support provider, say no. I have read snippets here and there that say yes, but do not elaborate. Is this possible? We can't be the only school to have an alternative provision on a different timetable. Our "timetabler" has washed his hands of it so it falls to IT as per usual
Homer Posted Wednesday at 18:36 Posted Wednesday at 18:36 Not really, we have a timetable that is split between KS3 and KS4 and that was difficult enough to get working It is doable, but it is a little messy. How different is the TT for your AP vs the normal school? This is how our period structure ended up looking (our TT was made in NT6 and then pulled in to Bromcom) and is slightly more convuluted than it may otherwise have been owing to some of the information our timetabler was given by the NT6 team not quite being compatible with the way Bromcom works (a timetable is in chronological order, and must run sequentially)
davie887 Posted Thursday at 11:57 Author Posted Thursday at 11:57 The AP timetable is completely different, there is an AM registration period where the main school goes right into P1, then the length of the periods is 60 minutes vs 100 (2x50min A/B sessions). The real issue is the periods not lining up. Should a teacher be required to cover P2 at the AP, it isn't P2 on their calendar and there is a ~15-20 minute travel time to the other site. If everyone were sensible it wouldn't be a problem, however we are SLT are losing it as they can't understand the technical limitations.
davie887 Posted 17 hours ago Author Posted 17 hours ago Was hoping someone from Bromcom would chip in and say it's something simple we've all missed. I cannot believe it isn't a useful feature for loads of schools.
Bromcom_Alastair Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago You can currently only have one period structure. But you could set up one with 20 minute sessions then chain together the AP sessions for 100 minutes, 5 lots of 20 minutes and main school 3 lots of 20minutes.
davie887 Posted 13 hours ago Author Posted 13 hours ago Thought of that, but it'd look a mess, and we have split break/lunch to contend with too. How do trusts do it? Or schools with lower and secondary school?
