PowerPoint 2024 Desktop App - Annotation/Drawing Issues

Since upgrading to Office 2024 and using the PowerPoint desktop app, we have experienced issues when staff try to annotate slides in Presentation Mode using PowerPoint's built-in pen tools (not the interactive board software or board pens).

Typically, the annotation tools work initially, but after a period of time they either stop responding or freeze completely, preventing any further drawing or writing on the presentation. Occasionally, functionality returns after a short delay, but more often than not PowerPoint has to be force-closed and reopened before annotation will work again.  Also the same problem when you use your mouse rather than a pen on the board to annotate.

 

Has anyone else experienced similar issues?

• PowerPoint 2024 Desktop App (fully up to date, with no further updates available)
• Windows 11 version 25H2
