First broadcast in 1978, it featured the best of winter sports action, with Ed Leigh and Chemmy Alcott its most recent presenting team.

 

"Changing audience behaviours and the tough financial decisions needed to meet savings requirements mean BBC Sport must continually review how it delivers value for licence fee payers and serves audiences across all platforms. This decision forms part of that process," said a BBC Sport statement.

That’s a shame as used to enjoy watching skiing on a Sunday afternoon

Extremely disappointed in this decision as its these types of programmes that make the BBC unique.

Hugely disappointed. I started competing in slalom skiing when I was 13 and kept going at a national level until my mid-20's, and it was always excellent to have trained at the home slope of Dave Ryding and to follow his successes to WINNING a World Cup race in 2022. So removing our long standing media representation of Snowsport is SO backward when, not just in skiing, we've seen a huge growth of success in a field where we train either in fridges or on carpets/bristles in the pouring rain and compete with nations with glaciers.
