Hello,

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with Elegoo printers in the classroom environment? our DT department bough them without consulting us and what we're struggling with is locking down the IP address you use to access the web portal. I'm going to do some reading on it but there doesn't appear to be any security settings in the webportal or the device itself to require a password to access it and this will be abused by students. our other thought is to work out a way that only the machines in the DT classroom will be able to access the IP address

Put it on a separate vlan and adjust ACL rules then only allow the DT desktops to access it. My feeling with a lot of these is they should be on a different vlan anyways, like an IoT vlan.

Most are simply designed for a home network with little access control and majority are cloud going connected somehow.

yeah looking into it this does seem like the most viable option, it does appear they've bought a device that was designed for home use with one user and one printer
