Jamman960 Posted July 7 Posted July 7 Morning all, Is anyone having issues generating profiles/reports? our school and others in the trust are experiencing issues generating reports due to a document management server bug in the latest version of sims it seems, our data manager is unable to change templates via session management and is unable to process the reports with existing templates. Not sure whether we're just generating reports earlier than everyone else? we're on 7.230 via Connected
duesouth Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Yes, we're having the same problem. We applied the summer release yesterday and today I can only get one pupil's report to upload at a time, but even then it tells me "Unable to upload the report. Please check DMS settings" some of the time (2 year groups to do - I might be at it for a while!!). Our Network Manager has re-started the document manager server, but still no joy...
Boredguy Posted July 9 Posted July 9 There was a bit in the July notes for SIMS that come summer update new documents that would normally go into the local document server will start going to the Next Gen one instead of local server, so it might be that is the root cause.

KB0015925. Hopefully without derailing this thread: I'm just reading this and the sentence jumped out at me (my highlighting): "There will be no storage limits to what schools can hold in the cloud during the migration phase." I'm going to hold off until the start of school holidays and hope they've sorted it before we need it.
duesouth Posted July 9 Posted July 9 I went into Tools | Housekeeping | Document Management Services | Next Gen Document Management Server - I didn't do anything in that screen, but our Asst Head just tried a few and they uploaded - and I've done the same. Not sure if it was that screen or SIMS doing something at their end...

networkmangler Posted July 10 Posted July 10 We have the same issue, I contacted our support company and they said ParentPay are aware and it's been marked as a major case They are working on a patch/fix but there is no set timeline when this will be ready 1
Jamman960 Posted July 10 Author Posted July 10 We managed to get all of our reports out yesterday, we've gone back to the Sims 7 DMS temporarily.

How did you switch back to SIMS 7 DMS? When I look at the SNG DMS setup it says once the option has been ticked it can't be unticked: I didn't tick the box. It automatically happened after I applied the summer upgrade 1
jaydee Posted July 15 Posted July 15 We have this issue as well, our support team have been in contact with Parent Pay and they've said a few times its been sorted but still broken for us. It just about lets me clone a new template from any template not modified before last week, says it's generating reports but all the reports come out empty. Not great as we have reports due to go out before the end of Friday!
networkmangler Posted July 16 Posted July 16 The issue seems to have resolved itself for us although the data manager said she had to do the reports in batches rather than in bulk Our support company did get back to us and said to make sure these 2 sites had been white listed: https://www.platform.sims.co.uk/validation/api/v1/sims7/bau https://pazprdpfmdmssa.blob.core.windows.net/
stottio Posted July 16 Posted July 16 Just wondered if any of you have also expeienced issues with the whole of sims since the upgrade? We have had to deisabled the SMS service as sims crashes when on, even then it falls over regularly. Applied the upgrade last Monday, fine before now woeful in performance

Applied the upgrade last Monday, fine before now woeful in performance Yes, our SIMS performance has been in decline for a while but it's noticeably worse since the upgrade. Also annoyingly the DMS error has returned. The Data Manager has resorted to uploading student data individually. We have also had issue's with SIMS Next Gen. We get random error pages and have to keep reloading to get it to work 1
stottio Posted July 16 Posted July 16 Started last Week as daily server restarts to clear, now requiring 3 restarts a day, resources on server arent maxed out but something is blocking something somewhere. Its just turned horrible

Its just turned horrible I have noticed that as well. CPU at 65%, RAM at 70% but it's still running slow on the server and workstations. Sometimes stopping the SIMS Data Exchange Service helps but sometimes it doesn't
stottio Posted July 16 Posted July 16 exactly the same here, CPU really low, Memory never above 80% but sims unusable. Spot on with the DMS serivce also, we were convinced we had sorted the issues when we first found but turned out to be a total coincidance
jaydee Posted August 4 Posted August 4 Almost a month later for us and still no resolution, just that PP are looking in to it!
willtech Posted August 4 Posted August 4 (edited) You applied these two patches: Edited August 4 by willtech
stottio Posted August 4 Posted August 4 We applied the patch, didn't even require a restart, SIMS issues were fixed. It's now running as before, and the DMS issue is fixed
jaydee Posted August 4 Posted August 4 We're on SIMS Connected hosting so out of my hands for applying patches annoyingly!
