Madness in the world

[Ditto]

This is a thread is to note madnesses in the world that come to cross your path.

I just received a Samsung email advertising a new TV. They headline says it come with a free bezel worth £99 when you but a 'The Frame TV'. I haven't even caught up with the super thin bezel version that I thought was vogue, as I'm still on a Panasonic Plasma model - could be 10 or more years old. On digging, it's now a thing where you can spend a bucket load money on  frames, magnetic, detachable with different finishes. Maybe that's marketing genius for the 'arty' types; for me it's madness!

The "... worth £99 ..." assertion (and similar for other products) bothers me.

They are saying it's worth "£X" Often the touted "extra" has not been sold separately, and so it's price/value is untested.

Mini rant over. Thank you.

Used to get that a lot with old cover disks/CDs where they'd give you the full version of a software product completely free, but print somewhere what it's normally worth i.e. £199.00. The original cost ended up being immaterial, especially as you'd load it up and see exactly why they were giving it away for free.

My mother just moved house...... it came with a 65" samsung frame with a horrible "pink" bezel....... i was gonna wrap it black..... then also discovered it was detachable and magnetic...... the bezel is in the loft now lol

Buy a TV for £CHING and find that you have to buy extra speakers because the design of the TV is carp.
