FN-GM Posted June 16 Posted June 16 What is it you're migrating? If it's files, I would use Robocopy. 2
Davit2005 Posted June 17 Posted June 17 100% Robocopy if files. Used it many times in the past for migrating shares to new servers. Don't be afraid of the CLI 🙂 https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/administration/windows-commands/robocopy 1

BKGarry Posted June 19 Posted June 19 I am going to throw the weird one into the mix for you, as long as you have the same names/amount of partitions/drive letters on your new server, Windows Admin Centre has a File Server Migration Tool. I used it 3 years ago with great success. It runs an initial sync and then an update sync when you say, and then it will take the name of your current server, all the share names and permissions and the IP Address and configure the new server to that and rename and re-IP the old one for you. Worked very very well. I have Windows Admin Centre installed on it's own VM for this and easily seeing information on my Hyper-V cluster etc 2

I also used this to migrate from a Windows 2016 file server, to Windows 2025. Worked flawlessly. 1
BKGarry Posted June 19 Posted June 19 I did 2012 to 2022, just had to make sure 2012 was on it's latest updates to work, was so easy to do. 2

Robertia Posted July 23 Author Posted July 23 Hi , Sorry for replying late, After completing our task , I would to say that Gs Richcopy 360 did the job as we need . I totally recommend it for similar issues 🙏
