UnknownSoundman Posted June 9 Posted June 9 Hi all. Does anyone have any reading on the Government's requirements for AV in schools - I'm focusing on classroom AV (screens, visualisers, etc) at this point. I've been told there isn't anything specific, but wanted to check in with people on here to see what they think. We're putting together a new strategy document, primarily focused on IT (as always), but wanting to include AV as part of it so we can actually ensure it gets kept up-to-date and up to scratch, rather than being everyone's last-minute thought, other than mine. Any links or comments would be greatly appreciated!
Steve21 Posted June 9 Posted June 9 Look under the DFE new build requirements for a general idea as to what’s expected in any new build contract https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/6971f649d8adeaf266040501/ER-DFE-XX-XX-T-X-0201-Technical_Manual-A-C01.pdf page 353 for AV screens etc Steve 1 3

Steve21 Posted June 10 Posted June 10 There's a whole bunch of paperwork linked to new builds for schools when Trusts get assigned funding to build new schools etc for the contracts to meet, mainly linked to the physical structure/materials, but also random specific details like size of doors/airflow etc etc, but some of the IT requirements fall under them too as a requirement which DfE specific minimums to meet Design standards: employer's requirements - GOV.UK Just a nice reference to compare against other requirements when asked to reference items Steve
Sylv3r Posted June 10 Posted June 10 I couldn't see it mentioned in the document Steve21 provided, but we were told 75" as a stipulation for the classrooms. 2

Yes absolutely a great reference - fills some gaps in the standards as well. Appreciate you finding and sharing.
