chazzy2501 Posted May 1 Posted May 1 Sooo, looking at the AV and nothing amiss here.... Wait.. what? I have heard you can "get" Windows 11 to install on unsupported devices but I've never tried, I just bought compliant hardware... No one here knows 1. How this PC was missed, 2. How Windows 11 is on it, (as no one knows how to skip checks) 3. how a PC with 11 and only 4 gigs of ram is running ok, 4. wtf 1
chazzy2501 Posted May 1 Author Posted May 1 Interesting note: I assumed that Windows 11 would NOT install without the correct TPM module. This is not the case, I've now run an inventory of all my hardware and I found 5 more PCs that don't even have their TPM enabled! (they should have 2.0 TPM but must be BIOS disabled) I'm going BIOS hunting later today...

Actually surprisngly usable - takes alittle while to boot, but once it gets going it's fine.

Maybe it's because we used VLSC media rather than the regular ISO on the Microsoft website? AFAIK, the checks are just part of setup.exe on the ISO, so manually installing with DISM (e.g. MDT, OSDCloud, FFU) bypasses that entirely and the checks will take effect on the next Feature Update. 3s-gtech Posted May 1 Posted May 1 I think it's only on non-compliant devices here where I put it on manually with MDT (and running fine, but they have 8GB of RAM and will be retired this year). 11 seems to be very memory flexible - it'll run from 4GB up but it does love to hoover up any available memory for important tasks.
