Hassan98 Posted April 28 Posted April 28 Hi, I am currently trying to install Adobe Lightroom for one of our photography teacher. However I am currently stuck on a issue that i ran into which says lightroom cannot create a catalog named "lightroom catalog" on network volume which is then followed by the name of our server and where it will be stored Is there way of resolving this issue
Gongalong Posted April 30 Posted April 30 I'm pretty sure that the Lightroom catalog can only be on a local disk, which is presumably for speed, although I think Adobe are living somewhat in the dark ages on that score. I think Lightroom will prompt to backup a catalog, but I can't remember offhand if the backup can be on the network.

When our PCs were domain joined, I shrunk the C:\ down and pointed LR to the small drive created. Now we are on Intune, we don't have this issue.
J-14P Posted April 30 Posted April 30 We had this exact same problem, you can store them on a network if you use a symbolic link (not supported and a dodgy method) but the speed just makes it impossible to use. It works from an IT point of view, but for a user it's terrible. We ended up buying all the creative arts students a 1TB external drive.
