Hi guys,

Im struggling to get this autopilot for students to work - all the settings I've checked are set correctly. Tenant has been set to K-12 as picture below - age group for our test student account is set to Not Adult and still get this image further down. Any ideas? Students are on Office 365 A1 for students + Microsoft 365 Apps for Students.

Edit: sorry didn't see you had already set AgeGroup, how long has it been?

For K12  it doesn't work unless you set the AgeGroup to something other than Minor or $Null , ConsentProvidedForMinor  only applies I think if you have them set to Minor and allows them to log in to Entra. Also it might take a few days to update.

To provide access to students, they must be marked with a value of NotAdult or Adult. Any users in a K12 Education tenant with the attribute left null won't have access to Microsoft 365 Copilot. Any users with the attribute defined as a minor in won't have access to Microsoft 365 Copilot.

It is worth being aware that neither Microsoft nor the DfE consider CoPilot to be compliant with the DfE Generative AI Product Safety Standards: Generative AI: product safety standards - GOV.UK

I'm not sure how a school could make the system compliant.  And I don't know what the consequence of none-compliance may be, it is untested as yet!

Hi there I am having the same issue here. We have set a test user to NOT ADULT but the issue remains. Any ideas?

We were told by an MSP that it is still rolling out so not everyone has access yet.....I still get this message.

I don't believe Microsoft are compliant with the DfE standards and therefore they are unlikely to enable it for an Education Account for a non-adult user.

Is anyone able to enable CoPilot for students configured as non-adult on an education licence?

Not yet but I also ran some questions through copilot myself yesterday and it claimed it wouldn't be released....

When I raised a ticket with our MSP to double check, they just said it would become available at some point and they are still rolling it out.

I am sure at BETT they announced it was being rolled out, unless I misunderstood.
