We are in a halfway house with regards to our devices, we have some in Intune and we have on premise, with MDT basically gone, how are people re-imaging on premise devices these days ?

Intune for clearing a device is fine using wipe. which got me thinking about maybe using hybrid for the on premise devices - we could use that for re-image using wipe, and have all the apps sent out via groups in intune. Its just a thought at the moment has anyone tried this ?

Biggest thing really is we need an option for MDT replacement, don't really want to go down the SCCM route. If anyone has any suggestions for thsi it would be great thanks

MDT is still fully usable and workable, we have no intention of replacing it just for the hell of it. The solutions like DeployR look awesome but costly compared to the cost of 0 with MDT :) It isn't being actively removed, you can install and run it from server 2025 and still push out the latest versions of windows 11 without any hassle. We're still using the same task sequences as we did with windows 10 with no modifications, just works :)

Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) - Immediate Retirement Notice - Configuration Manager | Microsoft Learn  Here suggests it will no longer recieve updates, fixes or support, so i suspect soon it will stop working

It won't stop working nor be removed, just the support/updates as you mention. There isn't anything inherently present that would make older versions unsecure, the only issue is going to be if ADK's go out of date. That however will be unlikely as SCCM uses them in exactly the same way.

SCCM uses task sequences very similar to MDT’s, and you can integrate MDT into SCCM if you so desire, but natively SCCM does not use MDT.
