Sheridan Posted February 2 Posted February 2 I've been trialling using a macbook to manage our Windows servers and remembering the old MS Remote Desktop days from a few years back I installed the newer Windows App version on my Tahoe macbook Problem is I can't rdp to anything - I get the login prompt - then enter valid credentials in the correct format (and I've tried all formats) - I get the certificate warning that I accept and it always returns the login box again with the message 'The credentials did not work' - 'the credentials used to connect to <server> (remote OC) did not work. Try again. The credentials are 100% correct. I've disabled the firewall on the macbook and made sure the Windows App is allowed to access the network in Security settings but I'm stumped now! The laptop is on the wireless network that is part of the domain so dns etc is all good Is this a bug or is it just me? I've done the same thing in my previous role but it was called Remote Apps/Desktop back then
Sheridan Posted February 2 Author Posted February 2 (shuffles into corner with dunces hat on) Ahem, turns out the macbook I'm using has a US keyboard so a 'shifted' character was being sent incorrectly as opposed to my UK windows keyboard (whistles nonchalantly whilst backing out of the room hoping no one will notice....) 1
3s-gtech Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Mac keyboard layouts have caused me many, many re-types.
