Game - Carmageddon: Rogue Shift

Yes, there is finally a new version of Carmageddon due out in February. I used to play the original many many years ago. I hope it manages to match my epic level memories.

It really doesn't look like it - have been following this since announcement and it feels very much more like an IP grab than any sort of proper Carmageddon.

It might appeal to the mainstream perhaps, but if you want something modern and more akin to the originals then Carmageddon Max Damage is your best bet - at least it was made by the people actually involved in the game to start with unlike this.

Happy to be proven wrong though, will wait and see.

First I've heard of it, and I was in their Kickstarter for Reincarnation....they never write....

Probably as the name is the only link to the originals or Reincarnation. Having played it - it's meh. Arcadey every-day nonsense and not even close to being worthy of the name.

One of my favourite Carmageddon's was the Android version. The original game but with improved graphics and controls.

 

I enjoyed Max Damage a lot, but the original looms so large in my memory.

Shame, I could never play GTA because my driving style was Carmageddon... fortunately, not my real-world driving...I read roguelike...

I remember receiving the original game for Free!  One day we turned up at work and the Big Box version was there in all it's glory so we promptly installed it on to one of the MPC computers (Multimedia PC - i.e. it had a soundcard, CD-ROM drive and speakers)!  It was the original pre-censored version so there was not a zombie in sight!!
