Lightspeed Alert without Filtering

Hello Fellow IT People.

 

Just curious if anyone else out there is using Lightspeed Alert with separate filtering system?

 

We have Lightspeed Alert alongside LGFL.

 

We are being advised that we have to setup and install Lightspeed Filtering Agent to allow the Alerts to work for web traffic.

Teams and OneDrive scanning works perfectly.

 

They all need their separate agents as well.

 

I now have 2 windows agents and 4 browser extensions just for Lightspeed with no luck.

 

Is anyone else in similar situation and did you get Light Speed Alerts working?

I think their filter and alert software are very much 2 sides of the same coin - my advice would be to look at one of the monitoring products that can stand alone by design (obviously I can recommend Smoothwall as market leader, but also senso I think is available from lgfl, and securus)

Exactly what I suggested to the school....

 

We have the Senso licences from lgfl....

 

They seem determined to get lightspeed working.

 

From what Lightspeed have explained our Alerts have never worked because we don't use their filter.

 

For context I am new to the school and this was all setup by my predecessor.

This is correct, for alerting to work you need the Alert agent installed...

Not Sure if you misread..

 

I am being advised for the alerting to work I need the Alert agent AND Filtering Agent installed.
