Found a major flaw - Censornet doesn't permit a 2 character hostname for the Domain Controller - which mine has! :(

4AM? Gosh! You must have been working on this all night on this one.

Won't a CNAME do? Is there a BDC ...sorry peer DC with a longer name?

2 character hostnames are a breech of RFCs. Minimum is 3.

Censornet forum says the opposite Geoff:

"A two character server name in AD is perfectly valid so CN is at fault here."

Is there no way to hack this change?

Can you get away with a CNAME entry? I had to do this for some old shares admitedly it didnt work straight away but.... I would probably say that because of some of the mechanisms involved it problably wont work but worth looking into.

I just noticed as well you can rename a DC in 2003 but that would obviously be done with extreme caution and some studying on the implications of such an action.

Censornet won't accept the IP or the CNAME

I think earlier versions might - they ask for fewer fields - like just the IP - but that would be back to v3.1 or earlier - not desireable really.

Censornet pulls all the AD users using the basic DNS settings.
