mrstrong Posted September 25, 2025 Posted September 25, 2025 has anyone seen (or heard (not) ) of anything like this: audio works for a bit then just stops, troubleshooter can't solve. uninstalled and deleted drivers then reinstalled latest from HP, worked for a bit then stopped again. weirdly on boot you sometimes get the windows boot up sound but it cuts off before it's finished playing
3s-gtech Posted September 29, 2025 Posted September 29, 2025 Any chance it's the antivirus interfering? Is this on a fresh build? Does it do it in Windows 11? 1
sigma Posted September 29, 2025 Posted September 29, 2025 “Sometimes” HP doesn’t always provide the right 3rd party driver. I would try a previous version of the driver and also try downloading from Realtek. On rare occasions I’ve even unpacked and used a driver for the exact same component from a competitor such as Lenovo and that has worked. Have you checked the hardware device code in System Information / components that it really is Realtek? Occasionally, even in a continuous run of serial numbers there is a random differently branded component. 1
