Teams and OneNote - memberships differing !

Hi there,

We have a weird situation with a number of Teams where a student is showing in the membership of the team but when you go into the onenote notebook of that team they haven't got a section allocated to them.

Is there a setting I might be missing within Teams as this really doesn't make any sense, I thought the memberships would be the same !

 

Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated...

Had the same issue, removing them from the group for 24 hours and adding them back seemed to fix it

Just following this as i got the same issue as students have moved around. 

 

We use SDS though Salamander, It sync's twice a day, - Did you disable the sync for 24 hours as well?

Like InTune, the S in OneNote stands for speed. Patience is key when it comes to OneNote, any sync issues usually sort themselves out given time.

This seems to work for ones that the 24 hours doesn't fix, mainly late joiners

 

Take the student out of Maths Team 
Open SharePoint Site for Maths 
Go to Site Assets, on the "Maths Notebook" click the 3 dots and Manage access
Set  Direct Access to "None - No direct Access" for the person you just removed from the Team 

 

Wait 5 hours

 

Put the Student back in the Maths Team
Open Maths Class Notebook
Do a section distribution or file resynch 2 or 3 times 
Their section should appear in a a few minutes
