mbl Posted September 11, 2025 Posted September 11, 2025 (edited) Is anyone else experiencing issues with Google Chrome when staff and students try to search for images? They are seeing the message: "Update your browser. Your browser isn't supported any more. To continue your search, upgrade to a recent version." This is happening even though Chrome is on the latest version and was working fine yesterday. Edited September 11, 2025 by mason2 1
r_turner Posted September 11, 2025 Posted September 11, 2025 Also experiencing this issue. Was also working fine yesterday.
mbl Posted September 11, 2025 Author Posted September 11, 2025 (edited) I believe it is the Smoothwall HTTPS inspection. I just disabled it on a test PC, and its working fine. I’ve logged a helpdesk ticket and am currently waiting for a reply. Edited September 11, 2025 by mason2 1
r_turner Posted September 11, 2025 Posted September 11, 2025 Yes we found the same, I am logging a ticket now with smoothwall as well. 1
simpsonj Posted September 11, 2025 Posted September 11, 2025 Had this at one of my schools, we turned off the Content Modification - Google Basic Image search and it seems to have solved the problem. Ensure you have safe search enabled and test! 1
ITGuyNW Posted September 11, 2025 Posted September 11, 2025 Smoothwall user here and we're seeing the same. 2
tom_newton Posted September 12, 2025 Posted September 12, 2025 If you disable the "basic image search" content mod, that will get you working. It looks like google may have finally got around to killing this feature. 1
tom_newton Posted September 12, 2025 Posted September 12, 2025 I believe this has been, or soon will be automatically disabled by us
