Jawloms Posted August 7, 2025 Posted August 7, 2025 I'm using the summer holidays to upgrade my servers to 2022 (I still don't fully trust 2025 yet!). I'm using the latest July ISO from MS. Some have gone through fine, some get to 19% and then stay there. I left them for around 15 hours! They are currently on 2019. Some I've made sure have all the latest windows updates applied before attempting the upgrade, some I haven't. Rebooted first. Makes no difference. They're all VMs in a Hyper-V environment. Any suggestions? Had a Google and not found much.......
Jawloms Posted August 7, 2025 Author Posted August 7, 2025 And it's across multiple VM hosts, each on different hardware.
sigma Posted August 7, 2025 Posted August 7, 2025 Idiot question, but I presume all your servers run the same “edition” as the upgrade ISO has to match the installed edition?
pete Posted August 7, 2025 Posted August 7, 2025 Any patterns? I'd expect bog-standard things (DC, Fileservers etc) to upgrade without issue provided they're in good shape (rebooted, logs clean of errors, patched, sufficient diskspace, checked compatibility for any installed software).
Jawloms Posted August 8, 2025 Author Posted August 8, 2025 Yep, all correct version. Three are file servers, one is a server running IIS and HAP, one is running Impero.
