Anyone else having an issue with the Smoothwall Cloud Filter extension this morning?

Extension in question is: jbldkhfglmgeihlcaeliadhipokhocnm

Happening on both domain PCs and Chromebooks.

Thanks for posting back so quick Tom. Just hang fire a min, it might be our Smoothwall mate. I'm off site so still information gathering and have a feeling the directories sync for Google is mashed.

Let me jump on the Smoothwall and take a look and will update.

Got the issue again this morning.

The filter is putting everyone into Default Users even though the extension can see the directory groups, the group mappings are showing as Default Users.

Yeah, you are definitely a different issue. Yesterday's bug was we put out a new release that... accidentally discovered some misconfigured customers! So we revert, we fix them, and then we roll again.

You, however, are a different kettle of fish - a situation that probably comes as no surprise ;)

Ha! It doesn't come as a surprise but it sorted itself out yesterday afternoon.

Our head of second line had a look - he suggests "none of the users gws domain groups are mapped to filter groups" - maybe some folks are logging in as X one day and Z the other?

They are mapped and nothing has changed in the mappings. We use OUs rather than Groups and this has worked without any issues. What gets me is why did it work yesterday afternoon when nothing had changed.

Will see what this afternoon brings.

It might be an internal issue - hotspotting to my phone is giving expected results.

Tell a lie, it's just blocked the user as Default users.

Yeah, I doubt its a network issue - almost certainly a group mapping issue. Hopefully with support's help you'll get to the bottom of it!

I've brought home a Chromebook, at first it wouldn't but now done a restart on the Smoothwall, and upgraded to Maiden 30. Tested the CB again all all seems good, certainly from home anyway.

Group mapping should be identical regardless of network. If it's blocking stuff on network, be sure it's not an on prem block!

At a complete loss with this now. Both MV2 and MV3 extensions dont work and give the result of default users.

Answers on a postcard i think.

All chromebooks for us now do not work until this is fixed.

@tom_newton think ive found the issue but i dont know how to solve it. I think it's to do with 'Directories" on the cloud filter. It's done something weird and the Google paths are in the wrong format.

I could do with a chat.

Update - 1.10am - got it working. Was to do with directory syncs which i cannot delete.

Back onsite and the issue remains - defaulted the users back to Default Users. I give up with this!!

Also tethering my phone to the chromebook using mobile phone 4g data makes no difference.

Why would the cloud filter extension be reporting back Groups instead of OU paths from Google?

And why can I not delete directories or Smoothwall Groups on the Cloud portal because neither the onPrem box will let me delete groups and neither can the cloud portal. It's like it's stuck in a loop.

.. and support are being less than helpful - I've not heard anything from them. You Tom, are the only one that seems active from a support perspective. Is that how Smoothwall are operating now?

Update - 7:40am - It's the Azure sync and Google directory sync that are conflicting against each other. This started happening Tuesday 1st July 25 / Wednesday 2nd July 25.
